Worship – this Sunday, November 20, 2011 . . .

Join us! We’re worshiping this Sunday, November 20 at 8:00am (Traditional) and 10:45am (Contemporary) . . . WE WANT TO SEE YOU! When you’re not there . . . WE MISS YOU!

Pastor Blaik will be preaching from Galatians 6:1-5:

“Brothers and sisters, if someone is caught in a sin, you who live by the Spirit should restore that person gently. But watch yourselves, or you also may be tempted. Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. If anyone thinks they are something when they are not, they deceive themselves. Each one should test their own actions. Then they can take pride in themselves alone, without comparing themselves to someone else, for  one should carry their own load.”

Wow, that’s good stuff!

The Who, Why, and How of Christian Accountability. Our denomination was built on the idea of holding each other accountable for our behavior . . . the heart of Methodism during the life of John Wesley was the Methodist Class Meeting. This was a small covenant discipleship support group where members were accountable to each other. They confessed their faults one to another, prayed for each other, and stirred up one another to love and good works. The teachings of the Bible were examined in light of actual personal experience. In those meetings, leaders and laity were nurtured and equipped.

This is our Heritage! Where did it go? Can we get back to this?

Pastor Blaik will tell us . . .

As always, Sunday School for all ages is held between services at 9:30am.

Come and be blessed, worship an awesome God . . . so you can bless someone else – and they can get to know HIM!
