Back to the Grind” Coffee & Tea Ministry Greets Early Morning Commuters

Historic Tabor United Methodist Church (TUMC), located in the Perkiomen Valley’s beautiful countryside, hosts a “Back to the Grind” ministry every Monday morning for drivers on their way to work and who pass the church on Hendricks Station Road in Upper Salford Township.  TUMC members greet drivers with coffee and tea starting at 6 AM.  TUMC is also mindful of the environment and instead of using Styrofoam cups provides drivers with reusable travel mugs.  Drivers are asked to bring the travel mug back each week for a coffee refill.  TUMC also provides drivers with a weekly devotion brochure containing thoughts and prayers for each day of the week.

Tabor UMC Pastor Blaik Westhoff says, “Our Back to the Grind ministry is TUMC’s morning encouragement for drivers on the first day of the week as they head back to the work grind.  It is our hope that an early morning smile, a cup of coffee or tea, and short devotion for each morning of the work week will get the week off on a good note.    We are very pleased this coffee ministry is another example of how GOD is calling upon Tabor UMC and its members to provide valuable and empowering outreach to the many residents in the surrounding communities we serve.”
