“No More Excuses” (6/17/12)

Reverend Maryanne B. Ditter,
Luke 10:25-37

1. Who do you most identify with, the Priest, the Levite, or the Samaritan? Perhaps you see yourself more as one of the robbers or innkeeper, perhaps even the donkey carrying the injured.

2. Have you ever caught yourself making excuses for not serving God?

3. The Samaritian gave the Innkeeper two denarii, or two days wages and promised more if needed. Are you willing to be stretched in any way God asks of you?

4. Mercy. This is what the Samaritan showed by his actions. In your walk with the Lord have you reached the place where you are able to show this kind of mercy toward a stranger?

Luke 10:25-37

1. If someone asked you, “What must I do to inherit eternal life?” How would you answer them?

2. Try to describe in your own words what it means to “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’”.

3. In our 2012 world of email, facebook, and texting, how has the world changed your view of who is your neighbor?

4. How would you answer someone that said “How can I love my neighbor as myself when I don’t even love myself?”
