Sunday, December 2, 2012 . . . The First Sunday in Advent

Join us as we worship this Sunday, December 2, 2012 – the First Sunday in Advent.

The word Advent means “coming” or “arrival”. We focus on the celebration of the birth of Jesus the Christ in His First Advent, and the anticipation of the return of Christ the King in His Second Advent. Advent therefore, is more than just an event in history some 2000 years ago. It is a celebration of the truth about God, God revealing in Christ the reconciliation we receive through Jesus to all who believe . . . He shall be called Emmanuel, God with us, and He shall save the people from their sins . . .

The First Sunday in Advent is “Hope” . . .

“The Root of Jesse will spring up, One who will arise to rule over the nations; in Him the Gentiles will hope.”  May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.     ~ Romans 15:12-13   NIV ~
