Tabor Church to Participate in Offering for New Jersey

The United Methodist Committee on Relief has done their initial assessment of the situation in New Jersey following Hurricane Sandy and has determined that the recovery from this disaster will take approximately 3-4 years to complete.  This means that our response will be ongoing as we provide a helping hand to those in need.

For that reason, our Annual Conference (Eastern Pennsylvania) – along with other Annual Conferences – is initiating a special offering for the Greater New Jersey Annual Conference.  These offerings will be put together into one gift from the Annual Conferences of the Northeastern Jurisdiction and presented directly to the Greater New Jersey Annual Conference.

Each church in our Annual Conference is asked to collect a special offering on December 9 for “Greater New Jersey Hurricane Relief.”  Funds will be used for whatever the Greater New Jersey Conference needs for rebuilding and recovery.

The Tabor United Methodist Church will be participating in this offering. Beginning on December 9th and continuing for several weeks thereafter, you will have an opportunity to give to this offering (over and above your weekly faithful giving to the work of God at Tabor Church).

To give to this fund, please use the special offering envelopes in the pews and make checks payable to “EPA Conference” and include the following in the check memo: “Fund 0345B New Jersey Hurricane Relief.”  Simply put the envelope in the offering plate along with your regular offering.

Thank you for your willingness to respond to our sisters and brothers in need.  May our prayer be that we will come together to provide a truly significant offering as a demonstration of our support.
