“Jesus and His Death, Part 4” (3/17/13)

Pastor Blaik J. Westhoff
Mark 11:1-11; 15:1-47

1. Have you ever felt strongly about something and then later felt the opposite way, just as strongly?

2. After dismounting, Jesus went to – of all places – the Temple. Why was he going there?

3. In your own words describe what it means to you that God did not let our shouts of “Crucify Him!” be the last word in our relationship with Him.

Re-read Mark 15:1-47

1. Pilate asked them. “What shall I do, then, with the one you call the king of the Jews?” What do you think you would of said if you were there?

2. Jesus was quoting Psalm 22:1 when he cried out in a loud voice, “Eloi, Eloi, lema sabachthani?” (which means “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”). Why do you think he did this?

3. Meditate on this thought. He endured this for you. Write down what you are feeling.
