1. The religious leaders asked Jesus “By what authority are you doing these things?”. How would you answer this question?
2. The Roman coin had the image of Caesar stamped on it. Who’s image is stamped on your life? Explain how you know this.
3. In your own words answer this question “Will we let Jesus be the authority around here, or will we reserve that for ourselves?”

Re-Read Mark 11:27-12:17
1. In verse 11:30 Jesus asks the Religious leaders “John’s baptism—was it from heaven, or of human origin?” Why did Jesus want them to answer his question before he would answer their question?
2. Verse 12:1-12 are known as “The Parable of the Tenants”. Read this parable and then in your own words explain its meaning.
3. Verse 12:17 is often misquoted leaving out the word “back”. The verse actually says “Give back to Caesar what is Caesar’s and to God what is God’s.” not simply the word “Give to…”. How does the addition of the word “back” change the dynamic of this verse?
