Genesis 37
1. What have been times of peak spiritual experience for you – times
when you’ve felt the presence of God and known that God was working
powerfully in and through your life?
2. Have you ever been in the pit with Joseph – in a scary, dark and
lonely part of your life?
3. Looking back over your life, can you see how God may have used a
‘deep valley’ in your to transform the experience into a ‘spiritual
peak’?

As your devotion time allows, read about the life of Joseph: Genesis 37-50
1. There are more chapters written in Genesis about Joseph than any
other character. Why do you think that is?
2 Why did Joesph’s brothers hate him so much? Has anyone ever hated
you for the wrong reason?
3. In the church we sometimes wrongly judge others by the
circumstances in their life. We may say to ourselves “With all the
problems going on in their life they must have really sinned and upset
God”. What can you learn from Joesph’s life about judging others by
their circumstances?
