1. Do you think Joseph’s actions toward his brothers was motivated by revenge?
2. If you were Joseph would you be able to forgive your brothers? Why
is forgiveness so difficult for us? What does this say about our need
for a savior?
3. In Genesis 42:21 the brothers say “Surely we are being punished
because of our brother. We saw how distressed he was when he pleaded
with us for his life, but we would not listen; that’s why this
distress has come on us.” Do you think the brothers are being
repentant? Is there a difference between repentance and remorse? Which
response best describes the brothers? Why do we confuse repentance and
remorse?
